Fishbrook Wood is a seven acre area of mixed woodland situated next to the Lake Farm and Mizzy Lake. It was opened to our visitors in the spring of 2007 as a quiet area where Knowsley Safari Park can encourage British native wildlife to flourish. We are gradually developing and managing this lovely area to increase the biodiversity of plants and animals. To that end we have removed most of the non-native trees and shrubs, created two wildlife ponds, sewn British woodland flower seeds, installed 50 bird boxes and put in a pathway.

This year (2008) we will plant an understorey (with holly, young oak and young elm, and introduce more native conifers in the larch plantation side. As this area matures we hope that our visitors will appreciate the increase in plants and animals living in this lovely place.
