We're thrilled to win a Silver BIAZA Education Award for our Safari Work Skills programme.
Our Learning & Discovery team have done an amazing job planning and delivering this incredible programme for key stage 3 & 4 SEND students who would otherwise struggle to access work experience opportunities and got involved with a range of activities from different job sectors across the Safari.
During the 6 weeks, students are able to work with staff from different departments across Knowsley Safari, including education, catering, maintenance, and ground staff. They complete a range of tasks allowing them to gain transferrable skills that can be used in future careers.
The Work Skills programme has been a great success, with students growing in confidence, and learning skills that will benefit them in the future. Groups are able to come away from the programme with a completed portfolio, providing proof of tasks completed that they can look back on.
